My dog is honking, vomiting yellow, and sick. What should I do now?

Hello doctor my female dog Daisy is not feeling well from last three four days we took her to the nearest veterinary and he gave her gentamycin and dexona injections after one dose she was fine but next day again she was making honking sound as if something is stuck in her throat and yesterday she did vomiting 5 times yellowish colour .what can we do now?

Poor Daisy! I would take her back into the vet today if possible. Without seeing her in person, I can't say what is causing her symptoms but it is concerning that she is now making the honking sounds again and is vomiting. She may need further testing to determine what is causing her symptoms such as blood tests, urinalysis, and x-rays. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi my dog keeps on coughing for 3 days now and earlier she vomits yellow bile. What should I do
Poor Snow. She could have a respiratory infection causing the coughing and she may have coughed so hard she vomited. Given that this has been going on for three days, it's time to see the vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing her cough and can treat her. I'd take her into a vet today. I hope this helps!

It sounds as Daisy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

I took my dog to the vet today for vomiting. She doesn't seem any better. Labored breathing, she keeps tilting her head up towards the ceiling.
Oh my. Daisy doesn’t sound very stable at al after her vet visit. She sounds like she is not getting adequate oxygen intake. This can be caused by a number of things including pneumonia, laryngeal paralysis, or even severe anemia. I would highly recommend taking her in to your nearest ER vet right away for further testing and care to help stabilize her condition a bit better. My dog has thrown up yellowish coloured vomit multiple times this morning and was gagging last night. This is very unusual for her as she rarely vomits. What is causing this? Thanks x
There could be a couple of reasons why Annie Mae is vomiting. It could be she has a serious GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. I see that she isn't spayed, and she could have a pyometra causing the vomiting. A pyometra is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. Because I can't see her in person to rule out a pyometra, I think the best thing is to take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

My dog is being sick and is unable to keep anything down including water. What shall i do?
Poor Daisy sounds very ill at the moment, I would take her into the vet immediately. I see that she isn't spayed, and she could be suffering from a pyometra which is an infection of the uterus. I am sorry that Daisy is so sick,. It sounds like you have a good vet working hard to make Daisy feel better. I know you said her barium study came back normal however if she is still vomiting it might be time for her to have additional testing. I would recommend if they have not done already blood work to look at the liver , kidney and white/red blood cell function. Also could she have gotten into a toxin or have a foreign object in her abdomen that the barium did not see. Unfortunately medicine is very frustrating because it can take a while to determine the cause of illness. Also I would make sure Daisy does not have a virus like parvo or parasites. I would recommend continuing to discuss options with your vet who is taking care of daisy and I hope she starts feeling better soon!!

Poor girl. So sorry for the late response in getting to your message. I hope that your pet is still stable. Considering this is day 5 since the start of her symptoms I would recommend taking her in right away for care, even if that means an ER visit. She could have a simple upper respiratory infection going on, or it could be something more serious such as a lower airway infection (pneumonia) or even herat disease can cause symptoms of coughing. I'm sorry your dog hasn't been feeling well lately! I get the feeling as well that you feel as if your concerns have been dismissed, and I'm sorry you have those feelings. I understand being worried that she hasn't been eating regular meals, but it is a good sign that she ate at least once today and has kept it down. It could be that she is feeling generally under the weather, and that is causing her decrease in appetite. It may be possible that she has an upset stomach, so I recommend feeding her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. A bland diet should help with GI upset and may help her feel a better bit. If this bland diet doesn't help or she refuses to eat it completely, then I would take her back into the vet for an exam. If you need to bring her back in, explain that it's been a continuing problem, you've tried a bland diet with no success, and

I hate to hear that Bruno is sick. While infection is possible, other causes such as an intestinal blockage or pancreatitis (to name a few) could also cause the vomiting. When pets don't respond to treatment as expected, it can mean that the real cause of the illness has not been identified. I recommend to call your veterinarian and tell them what is happening. They may want to examine Bruno again, try a different medication or pursue other diagnostics. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
