I am unsure of its gender?

In box turtles, males tend to have a more colorful head, red eyes, short and thick claws on the hind feet and a concavity of the plastron (bottom shell). In the image provided, it is difficult to make out these details. You can also have the turtle examined by an experienced herp vet to determine sex.
