My rabbit has eye discharge and black spots on his penis. Is this normal?

I need some advice! Snowdrop is a 12 year, male, fixed rabbit. His left eye has some discharge coming out of it, it started a few days ago but seemed to have stopped. And as far as he penis, I have never seen those place spots before! Does he have something wrong? I’m all honesty I have only ever seen his penis a few times and I’m terrified that he’s in pain or has some form of cancer! I noticed the black spots on his penis when I was cutting his nails! Should he go to the vet????

Hi and thank you for your question. With regards to the dark areas near his penis, theses are normal fatty secretions. You can clean them gently if you like. They are of no concern. As to the eye, this could be due to an upper respiratory infection and/or blockage of his tear duct. If it persists please take him to the vet as it will require treatment. Regards
