What's a normal heart rate for my dog, a Bulldog Staffy mix?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 69.4 lbs

What should the results be for my dog after checking his pulse, he’s a bulldog x Staffordshire bull terrier if that makes a difference

The heart rate for dogs can be quite variable. I am attaching a handout below about physical exam findings. It lists a normal heart rate for dogs as 60-160. Generally larger dogs and more athletic dogs have a slower heart rate and smaller dogs have a higher heart rate. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=292 I hope that was helpful and answered your question.
