My male dog is going crazy for a female in heat. How to calm him?

I have a female dog in heat, and she has a dipaer on to prevent Anakin from mating with her. She is in her 12 or 13th day and Anakin is going crazy for her. She’s going to get spayed soon, but I’m worried about Anakin because he tries to mount her and ends up ejaculating outside (because of the diaper). This has happened twice already, and I don’t know how to prevent this and keep him calm. I’ve never seen him like this in previous heats. Is there something I can do to help him stay calm? Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Unfortunately there is not much to do other than keeping them apart. This is not due to stress it is likely due to the hormones she is emitting and what Anakin is picking up on. Having her spayed should help with this problem but for now I would keep them separate if possible. I hope this helps!
