Why is my cat's eye discolored after conjunctivitis treatment?

my cat has left eye corneal discoloration, he scratched it himself due to conjunctivitis itching, I have shown him to the vet , he gave the ointment ilium chloroint to be used , I have used it for 4 days till now , he said to continue for a week and then alternate days, please advise, I am worried, the cat is all normal and fine

This lesion seem to be due to a chronic irritation of the cornea, an active corneal ulceration seem not to be present, but only a fluorescein test at your local veterinarian can confirm it (=rule out further corneal damage). The eye looks fairly comfortable anyway. I suspect the conjunctivitis is due to a viral type of infection/inflammation (herpesvirus can be involved).
