My GSD puppy's ear is floppy. Will biting damage her cartilage?

Hi! I adopted a GSD a few weeks ago; she is roughly 16 weeks old and adorable! Her ears were both standing, but for about a week now one of her ears is floppy. I’ve heard this is genetic and common among GSD, however we also have an older puppy (14 months) who plays well with Addison, but occasionally will bite at her ears. We do our best to stop it, but can’t catch every instance. Will this damage her cartilage? Or is that more of a myth? I’ve heard both sides, and want some clarity! Thanks!

As much as you can keep the other dog from chewing on her ears, do so, but it's not the end of the world. Their ears will go up and down as they're teething and growing, so they may tip up and down for a couple months more until they stand for good. Congratulations on your new baby, she's absolutely beautiful!
