My cat has acid reflux. Does Pepcid AC need to be given for life?

My cat got X-rays back in August and now has acid reflux and lots of stomach acid. Does this last forever? I’m giving him Pepcid ac twice a day. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 lbs

Indigestion / reflux can be a life long problem so Pepcid AC may need to be given for the rest of Darby's life. Changing food to a hydrolyzed protein diet such as Hills Z/D or Royal Canin Ultamino may also help reduce the reflux as it may be dietary related. I hope this helps!
