Pregnant bully mix with vaginal prolapse: What to do if no vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 45 lbs

I have a 2 years old pregnant bully breed mix who is 8 weeks pregnant. She'd be 9 weeks on Saturday but she's in stage one right now. I think she has vaginal prolapse but I cannot get her to a vet. My road is covered in snow and ice and there are no vets open at 2 am. I'm terrified Belle won't make it and/or that her puppies won't make it. Is it possible for her to deliver all puppies and be ok even with vaginal prolapse? Everything I've read online is saying emergency vet and/or c-section.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! I am so sorry that you are going through this! You are correct, Belle needs immediate Veterinary care. A lot of bully and smoosh faced breeds require C-sections. There should be an Emergency room open. I worked emergency for 9 years and was required to drive in despite hurricanes, blizzards and ice storms. I would find someone with 4 wheel drive or go slowly. I tired to do a quick google search based on your zip code, I hope one is close. Also most vet hospitals provide info on the answering machine regrading on where to go for emergencies. http://www.petflight.com/zip_codes/45660/vet_clinics I really hope all is well with Belle!
