Why is my Pomeranian shaking, disoriented, and struggling to stand?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 11 lbs

Hi! My one year old Pomeranian is having symptoms of running wildly, difficulty standing up, shaking, heavy breathing, jumpy and isn't aware of his surroundings. He is having issues keeping his head up without shaking. Just a bit of background, he started doing this randomly about an hour ago and he's been under close watch since.

This sounds like he may have ingested something. Any chance of chocolate, cigarettes, or any prescription or recreational drugs he may have had access to? I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated immediately. I am concerned that this could escalate to seizure activity. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
