What are signs my 2-month-old puppy's spay incision is healing well?

hello i got my 2 mouth old puppy spayed on thursday 1/11 i want to know if she is healing correctly.

From the picture you provide, it does look like Mazy's incision is healing well. Remember it's important to keep her as quiet as possible while she heals, keep her from licking the stitches in the incision area, and monitor the incision daily for redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, pus, and bleeding. If you see any of those signs, take her into the vet. Good luck, I hope this helps!

    The incision looks fine for 6 days post op. Continue to monitor for excessive redness, swelling, discharge or if it is open. If you have an e-collar (cone), keep it on Honey for at least 14 days post op or until suture removal.

Keeping puppies "quiet" after surgery is certainly not an easy undertaking! The good news is that I think her incision is healing beautifully. There is very mild inflammation right around the incision, but the incision appears to be closed and does not appear to have any discharge. Continue doing your best to keep her as quiet as possible for the next week, but I know it's not possible to turn a 5 month old GSP puppy into a couch potato! If she's really out of control, you can ask your vet about prescribing mild sedative medications (like trazodone) to help her to stay a bit more mellow while healing. Keeping an e-collar (cone) on her is the best thing you can do to promote healing, as this prevents her from licking at the incision at all. Hope that everything continues to go well!

I got my puppy spayed on 1/11 I want to know if her incision is healing correctly
From the photo this appears to be a normal incision. Monitor for swelling, pain or discharge from the incision site. If concerned I would contact the vet that performed her surgery to see if they offer recheck for surgical patients. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Zoii had spaying operation on 19th August her stitches were removed on 30th August. I am joining pic of her spaying site please tell whether its fine or not.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is hard to tell by the picture but the area looks scabbed over and healing well. If you feel a bump underneath, it could be a knot from the suture that is under the skin layer. If there is no discharge, no heat around the area, and no swelling, I would just continue to monitor the area. Good luck and kisses to Zoii!

is this spay incision healing properly? or does it look infected? this is my first dog and im not sure what exactly to look for. the dr said a little redness is ok, but to me this looks swollen..please advise if I should take her to the vet. Thanks
It is normal to have some redness and a little bit of swelling, and from the picture, Skye's incision looks fine to me. It looks like the incision is healing well, and I would be concerned if the incision was really red and quite swollen. Continue to monitor it, and if the swelling and redness increases, then I would take her into the vet. You can take into the vet if you'd would like just to be sure, and it may give you peace of mind. I hope this helps :-)

My dog had her spayed surgery five days ago, but I’m not sure if her wound is getting better or not, can you please take a look and give me some suggestions? She drinks and eats as normal. Thank you
From what I can see in the photo, this looks like a pretty normal spay incision. :) You can use a warm washcloth to gently clean off the crusty bits. I don't see any redness or swelling around the incision, and no evidence of bleeding or drainage. Feel free to post another photo once you've cleaned it off, so that we can get a better look at the actual incision.

Her incision looks okay to me for a recent spay. Continue to restrict her activity, leash walks to go potty only, crated or quiet inside, keep her from licking, and monitor her for any signs of illness, seepage from the wound, increasing redness, swelling, and/or heat at the incision site. If you see any of these get her back to see your vet right away.

Winding if my cat is healing after being spayed.
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Minka. Her incision appears a little red, but most of the time that is normal after surgery. Otherwise, it seems ok. Signs of a problem can include pus or discharge coming from the surgical site, the incision opening up or her acting sick. If you notice any of these signs, she will need to see a veterinarian right away. Do not allow her to lick the site as this can lead to problems. I hope this information helps!

Day 14 post spay. Does the incision look like it’s healing nicely? Thank you!
Willow's incision looks as though it's healing beautifully! I can see a bit of suture sticking out from the top of the incision. It's not uncommon for a little suture end to poke through with this type of skin closure that does not use sutures on the outside of the skin. If she can be relatively still, it's ok if you use a pair of scissors to trim the suture that's sticking out. Depending on the type of suture your vet used in her spay, it can take 6+ months for the suture to fully dissolve internally. All of that said, the incision looks great!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lily. I know it is hard to do, but a dog should really be kept quiet for 10-14 days post-spay. This allows her body to heal. She went through major abdominal surgery. Her incision appears to be healing well from your pictures. I hope this information helps!

Bathing and cleaning the incision should be sufficient - from now until her sutures are removed or her incision is checked you should monitor very closely for signs of infection including redness, swelling and discharge. Hopefully she will still heal just fine.
