My dog has nose cancer. Could it have spread to her bladder?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 80 lbs

Our dog had a lump on top of her nose that turned out to be cancerous...she is now showing symptoms of bladder cancer. Could this have metestisized from her nose to her bladder? Waiting on urine cultures now...

Hi there. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. So sorry to hear that Sweet Pea is having this issue. It is unlikely that the nose cancer spread to the bladder. The bladder cancer is a type of cancer called transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) and that is not found in the skin. It is rare for bladder cancer to be anything but TCC. The skin tumor on her nose could be any number of types of cancer but it will not be TCC. My suspicion is that she is just unfortunate to have two separate types of cancer. Again, sorry you are dealing with this. Hope this answers your question. Best wishes.
