Is this a bug or seed stuck in my long-haired cat's matted fur?

Hi please can you identify this? SOMETHING alive inside this burr/seed? the black point goes in+out. found on my long haired cat, also small round ones like grass seeds but white larvae?) or bug curled into ball? have you ever heard of caterpillars coming out of pet hair? or human hair? my long-haired cat has 2 areas, incl under chin, tightly compacted clump of hair and above 'seeds' hidden within. photo 2 has cats hair attached, they tougfh to remove and bury quickly. cloith moth catplr?

Hi there. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and for posting the photos! This just looks like plant material to me. Maybe something in the cocklebur family? I don't see the "alive" thing you are referring to. Honestly, I think if there is something alive in the seed then it is just coincidence it is on your cat. I think the burr just got stuck in the fur. I have never heard of caterpillars coming out of any hair. If it is in the burr on your cat it is only because it is stuck in the fur. Not because it is "living" there. I recommend you just keep him brushed out daily. If you are really worried you can also take these things into your vet so they can see them. They may know more about these since they are local. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
