Poor Benny! The redness and drooping of his eye could be due to an eye infection, injury to his eye, or allergies. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would get Benny into a vet asap, no later than tomorrow, so that the vet can examined and diagnose his eye so it can be treated. Good luck, I hope this helps!

It looks as Benji is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.

My Cocker x Beagle often has a red left eye and his bottom eyelid is dropped more than his right. It doesn't seem to bother him so I'm unsure whether I need to take him to the vet or not. A friend has suggested I use eye drops for glaucoma. Any ideas
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. I do not recommend that you use any medications especially the one for glaucoma before having him evaluated by a veterinarian as all these conditions are treated differently and medications for glaucoma can actually exacerbate other conditions if that is the case. I highly recommend that you have Redd evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!

my dog is taking heart and water medication, he is 15 years old and has very sore eyes, in the past week around his eyes are very sore and when i am bathing them there is blood on the cotton wool pads what should i do/

His right eye is red with drainage. I noticed it Saturday around midnight when we got home from a parade and it's progressively getting worse throughout the day today and he keeps pawing at it. What could be going on? Tomorrow is Mardi Gras day down

My Dog Won't Keep His Left Eye Open, Should I Worry?

If he's keeping the eye closed or if the [eye is red](https://www.petcoach.co/article/why-are-my-dogs-eyes-red) and there's discharge coming from it, it's likely that he either has an [eye infection](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/conjunctivitis/) or an injury of some kind to the eye, such as a corneal scratch or ulcer. I would recommend having him examined by a vet or [veterinary ophthalmologist](https://www.acvo.org/) as soon as you can, since he will may prescription eye drops to treat the problem. Eyes are delicate, so the sooner he gets an exam and proper medication, the better - some problems can cause permanent damage or vision loss if they aren't treated promptly.
