Oh no, that looks like a lot of blood in the pictures you sent me. The bright red color of it is concerning to me, and the best thing to do is take her to your nearest vet. There will be a vet on call for emergencies in your area. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. In the meantime, withhold food but make sure Pepper has access to plenty of water. Keep her inside and warm, and keep her as calm as possible. Please take her into a vet right away. Oreo needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. Any blood in the stool or vomit always require a veterinarian visit because this can indicate something serious like a foreign object in the stomach (although other causes are possible). Additionally, diarrhea that continues beyond 24 hours often has bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Other diagnostics may also be recommended pending the history and physical exam. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. I hope Oreo starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions.

When there is blood in the stool I do become a little more concerned. I would recommend a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice, however I would still recommend an examination with a veterinarian tomorrow. That being said if he had a very bloody stool tonight, one that looks like raspberry jam, then he should be seen immediately. If he is developing a problem called HGE they can get very sick very quickly. If he starts vomiting that also increases my concern. I hope he improves quick.

I would have Bentley seen by a vet immediately. It's quite serious that she threw up blood, and that could be caused by eating something toxic, a foreign body, trauma to the GI tract, or GI ulcers among other causes. I see you live in Dickinson, Tesxa. There is the Animal Emerency Clinic Southeast-Calder Rd that is located just over five miles from your town. If they have not done diagnostics yet, then it sounds like a good next step. Diagnostic options include bloodwork with a GI panel, intestinal parasite screening, abdominal ultrasound, or intestinal biopsies. Yorkies are prone to developing lymphangiectasia, which can be caused by IBD. It can take some trial and error in testing out different treatment modalities to find which would work best for an individual pet, but treatments often include some combination of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, anti-diarrheals, hypoallergenic diets (would need 4-6 weeks to test if this works), anti-parasitics, among a few others. My Yorky has large amounts of blood in her stool. She pooped two regular piles and then blood all over the house? causes? Treatment?
Bella likely has hemorrhagic gastroenteritis or colitis. This could be life threatening and she will need to be seen by a veterinarian. Please take her to a vet or pet ER this evening. She will likely need hospitalisation, iv fluids and antibiotics and pain medicine. We do not know what causes this, but unfortunately certain breeds such as Yorkies are more likely to get this condition than other breeds.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Charlie! Blood in the stool indicates inflammation in the colon and we usually like to start dogs on antibiotics when they have blood in the stool. If Charlie is acting normal, not vomiting and is eating I think he can wait for your Vet to open tomorrow. If he is vomiting and not acting normal you should take him in an emergency hospital. The causes for diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, new treat, food or table scraps, pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, food allergy or intolerance. Most of the time we do not ever know the underlying cause. If the diarrhea is bad then fast him for 12-24 hours, do not limit water. Then resume feeding as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day until 2 days of normal stools. I hope this helps and I wish Charlie a speedy recovery!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Tauriel! I would stop giving her water and food. Fast her. Continuing to give her water or food by mouth will cause more vomiting. There is nothing to do until your Vet opens otherwise. Causes of vomiting and diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral (especially parvo if not up to date on vaccines) or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, food allergy/intolerance, reaction to new food/treats/table food. She needs medications from your Vet to help her. Have her there at the door at 8am. I wish you the best!

Angel is so cute! I am very concerned that she ate chicken bones and is now having diarrhea with blood in it. This can be a sign of an obstruction and/or trauma to the GI tract, and I would have Angel seen by a vet right away. If these chicken bones have caused an obstruction, it will be fatal without treatment and she would need surgery to repair it. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I have a 12 year old yorkie who is blind but now she won't get up and is pooping liquids blood...when she gets up she becomes dizzy and refuses to walk.
Oh dear! If Francis is unable to get up and walk, and is also having very bloody diarrhea, I'm afraid this is quite serious - she really needs to be seen by an emergency vet immediately. These symptoms could be caused by a number of different problems, including HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), pancreatitis, pyometra (a uterine infection that is common in unspayed females), or a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease. Regardless of the underlying cause, this sounds like a life-threatening problem that cannot wait until tomorrow, so I would take her to a vet right away. He/she can do blood work and x-rays to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment.
