Why is my puppy trembling and vomiting? Should I go to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 10 lbs

I've been seeing my puppy trembling sometimes. It isn't from her being cold or scared. She's also vomited up to 6 times in the 2 month I've had her. I didn't know if i should just take her to the vet. She just vomited a minute ago.

I agree with your concerns. This is not normal for a puppy, and I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. Small puppies can have problems regulating their blood glucose levels and that may cause the trembling and nausea. Try to give her a snack every 3-4 hours if possible. Also, deworming and vaccinations are important at this age as well. Your veterinarian will complete a good physical examination on her and let you know if they have any other concerns. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
