My ferret has ECE. Why are they still vomiting and having diarrhea?

My ferrets were diagnosed with corona virus / ece, the veterinarian prescribed predinisolone, emeprid, for a long time and 1 week of antibiotic. They gave a sign of little improvement. Their stools were harder but still with grapes and they did not have vomits, but this week they vomited and returned to have soft stools and something that looks saliva in their stool. I do not know what else to do, could you help me, would it be good to give them whey? How to do it and how much to give? Thank you

It sounds like your ferrets were responding to the treatment prescribed but that they likely need a longer course of antibiotic therapy. I recommend taking them back to your veterinarian for additional treatment (and more diagnostics if needed). I do not recommend trying to give them whey. Oxbow Carnivore Care is the best diet you can give to sick ferrets. Unfortunately, I do not know if it is available in Belgium.
