My cat has a black spot on her nose. Is it cat acne or something else?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 years old | 8.82 lbs

My cat seems to have developed a black spot on her nose. I’ve tried washing it off with warm water in a clothe but it doesn’t come off. I suspect it has something to do with the sunscreen she’s previously had on but we’ve stopped using it and the spot hasn’t gone away. It’s been quite a while as well

Hi there. It looks like Duchess may have comedomes, which are basically black heads. This is typically caused by blocked pores. I would try using an acne pad to clean the spot and see if it clears up. I would do this daily. If you don't see resolution after 5 days, I'd have your vet examine her. I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach!
