My dog has a bleeding wound or mass on his side. What should I do?

I have just found this on the side of my dog, it's bleeding really bad as I thought it could be a abscess but it don't smell. I have tried cutting some of his fur around it. Could u please tell me what it could be as I'm really worried

Poor Allie. It is difficult to tell from the picture but this could be a mass that has ruptured and now bleeding or a wound. I would try to hold pressure on it and even an ice pack if possible. Depending on its location you can even use some gauze and bandage material to wrap it. Just be sure to not wrap it tightly. Finally, I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to determine the cause of the bleeding and get her started on the proper meds to help her feel better. If it is a tumor, they may recommend surgical removal to prevent this from happening again. If it is a deep wound, they may recommend sutures to help it heal. I hope this helps.
