Can my dog go on the couch after applying oily flea medication?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 8 lbs

I just put flea medication that is oil like substance. Can my pet roam around my house and go on my couch if it has not absorbed yet? Can my pet sit beside me with the flea medicine on him?

Flea medication should be absorbed within 24-48 hours. Romeo can roam around the house, but I would not allow him on the couch until it is dry. He can sit beside you on the floor, but I would avoid touching where the flea medication was applied. He should also not be bathed for 24 hours after application. I hope this helps!

My dog has fleas I got him medicine called pronyl otc. How long do I keep it on his skin? I also got him a flea collar can he sleep underneath the covers still.
I'm sorry Romeo has fleas! You do not wash the Pronyl OTC off, it has to stay on the skin so it can be absorbed and remain effective for four weeks. Flea collars are not the best, they often cause skin reactions and are not very effective. The Pronyl should be enough to kill the fleas. I do not recommend using flea collars on pets. If he has fleas, you will need to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. Do the same with your bedding, as if he's been sleeping under the covers, you may have fleas in your bed as well. I would not allow him to sleep under the covers until you have fully disinfected your home. I hope this helps!

We put this flea poison an our dog. How long can it be until we are able to wash our dog. And can we touch our dog during this period of time. I’ll send photo of product. Thank you.
You will have to wait at least 24 hours before bathing Kiki so that the product has time to dry on her skin. You can touch her during this period, just avoid the place where you put the flea treatment, and wash your hands after touching her. I hope this helps!

My dog has fleas and there is lots of flee poop on him! I read that i should administer flea medication, then cannot was him for 4 day. But he keeps itching and chewing on the areas with flea poop. Can I really not wash him? Or any other tips to rel
Generally when using topical flea treatments it is advisable not to bathe the pet for 3 days after application. Now if you were to give an oral flea preventative / treatment then bathing him would not be an issue. I like using Bravecto or Nexgard for my oral flea preventative. I hope this helps! How long after we start flea treatment on our dog can he be around other dogs?
I would say after 24 hours, Leo should be fine to see other dogs. Depending on what product you used, efficacy rates can vary. The best products are oral products such as Comfortis, Simparica or Trifexis. Some over the counter products don't work well at all. So there is variability in how well it will work. After 24hours any product you used will be in his system and any topical products dried. Please post again with any further questions.

Can my one immediately after a bath apply tick and lea treatment like protector to the dog or is it we must wait 24/49 hours before plying it
Since a bath wets the skin significantly and also softens it, I suggest you wait a few hours until your dog is completely dry , ie has a dry hair coat as well as completely dry skin. Once the skin is dry there should be no problem with application of the tick and flea treatment.

Just recently purchased frontline plus for the first time. How long does it take to dry. I read 30-45 minutes and then you can play and pet. Others said don’t even touch your dog for 48 hours
In most cases, it will dry in an hour or two. It is best to avoid contact with the area though until it has dried. You may notice a "greasy" spot at the site of application for a few days after. This is normal and will resolve.

I applied K9 Advantix 2 prevention on my German Shepherd at 5:30 p.m but out of no were it started raining at about some time after 4 a.m. do I need to reapply the medication?
The medication will ideally dry for 12 hours. It's pretty close so likely the medication will work fine. Be checking Booker (especially around his tail and groin area) to be sure. Don't reapply medication with out a vet's ok. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

We found fleas on both dogs. I gave them frontline yesterday. Two hours after I gave that my wife gave them a bath. Should I reapply flea killer?
Dogs are not supposed to get wet for at least 24 hours after application of a topical flea medication, and more than likely it was washed off during the bath. You can reapply the flea treatment, and I would give them Capstar given you have seen fleas. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes, and it's safe to be given at the same time as the spot on treatment. Just as a note, I would not recommend using Frontline. In my experience (and from the experience of many colleagues), there is a resistance to Frontline, and you may not get the best results from it. I recommend using Advantage or Revolution instead. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash their bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home.

My dog is due for advocate treatment, he doesn't have any fleas. He is also due for grooming. Shall I apply advocate before or after grooming? Thank you
Any topical/spot on medications should not be used 48hours before or after shampooing. These medicaitons work through the oils in the coat which are stripped by shampoo hence making them poorly or ineffective

How long does Advantix II take to dry? Applied 2 hours ago and still wet. Safe to go outside? They love to roll around in the grass.
Topical products can take a few hours to absorb into the skin. If applied more to the fur than skin it may take a bit longer. Ideally I would leash walk them until the area appears dry to look and touch to prevent them from rubbing it off, or getting dirt caked in the application spot. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
