Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 10 years and 2 months old | 21.8 lbs
Hello. My 10-ur-old otherwise healthy pug was recently diagnosed with high ionized calcium (1.8) but low PTH (O.0). He so far has had an almost full-body ultrasound, a chest x-ray, and an aspiration of what was thought to be a small lump on one of his anal glands but turned out to havevobky a few nasal cells. Ultrasound may have shown a .26 cm nodule on one of the parathyroid glands but inconclusive. Symptoms are excessive drinking and urination, tiredness. Any thoughts on what to check next?

I would recommend a biopsy of the nodule on the parathyroid gland. Poor guy. It sounds like you have done some extensive testing so far. However a parathyroid gland adenoma (tumor) is my top suspicion considering the labwork findings and symptoms of excessive urination, drinking and lethargy. Surgical removal of the tumor is indicated if this is truly the underlying cause of Max's symptoms. I hope that everything works out well for your pet Max. Best wishes and take care.
