Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 12.2 lbs
Benny is a rescue, a Yorkie/Cairn mix. He weighs 12.2 lbs. It took me forever to find a food he would eat but now he'll skip a day or two of eating or just eat very little. When I got him he weighed 9 lbs. I give him 1/4 cup of Fromm dry Beef Fritatta and 1 little tub of wet Merrick Petite Pot Pie twice a day. He doesn't act sick at all and plays normally. He'll skip a few meals, then will lick the bowl clean next meal. How long can he go without eating before I have to worry? Thank you!

Hello. This could be just a normal schedule for Benny. No dog has to eat twice a day, that is something we have imposed on them. As long as he is healthy & happy, does not seem to be losing any weight, then skipping a day or day and a half is of no concern. If there is any weight loss, vomiting or change in stool quality or quantity, that would be the time to become concerned. But he looks very happy with his friends. Take care.
