Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male
I have a budgie who recently lost his cage mate/friend who was an older female, they got on great but now that shes Gone I don’t know whether to keep him alone or buy another one becashe he isn’t eating as much and won’t come out of his cage. He hasn’t been out in a while and the female budgie was always first to leave the cage and he would follow. So basically I would like to get another budgie to keep him company and I’ve always preferred to have a pair but don’t know whether it’s a good idea

If Harley is used to having a friend I think it would be a good idea to introduce a new buddy for him. Budgies are social birds and having a friend may help with his depression over the loss of his previous one. Make sure to introduce the birds slowly, and that both will have access to food, water, perch spaces, etc without competition to ensure it goes smoothly.
