Considering adopting a puppy with genetic mange: Is it curable?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

I am considering adopting a 6 month old puppy who is currently being treated for genetic mange. She is reviving weekly named bath and is on med to treat this problem. W Can this be cured, or do you feel that I would be adopting a cute puppy with ongoing mange problems?

Generic mange, demodex, cannot be cured. However with appropriate treatment you can get rid of all the symptoms and never know she had it. As shebages, she does have potential to exhibit the signs again ifbshe gets sick or stressed but it is easy to control. It is not contagious and these puppies do very well. I would.l not let this stop you from getting her!!
