Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Male | neutered | 105 lbs
My 1yr old great Dane has been having skin issues for the last 4 months, he has had a staff infection on his face, a bacterial infection on his foot a bad anal gland and hair loss, he tested negative for mites, we are now being sent to a dermatologist. His symptoms are a lot like a food allergy, but the vet is avoiding the issue. If it is food what would be the best to try, these issued started 2 months after being on wellness complete lamb and darley

In order to investigate the role of food sensitivities, a hydrolyzed diet such as royal canin anallergenic should be fed for 8 weeks, avoiding all treats and flavored tablets etc. The extent of improved symptoms will give an indication if food is any, all or part of the issue. If limited improvement is noted, transition to a specialized skin health diet such as hills derm defence after 8 weeks. I recommend you contact the dermatologist before you institute changes to confirm this will not affect their protocols
