My dog ate sanitary pads and has labored breathing. What should I do?

my 1yr old moodle ate 2 pads the day before yesterday and then yesterday. tonight at 3.30am he had laboured and fast breathing with bloodshot eyes for 30 seconds. yesterday his stomach was grumbling cause he had a stomach ache. is he going to be ok?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Casper! I think it depends on if he tore up the pads or if they are in huge chunks. Pads are non-digestible and can have a hard time passing. There is a risk he could become obstructed. Signs are vomiting, lethargy and not eating. If he exhibits any of those signs he should go to the Vet right away for an exam and X-rays. The labored breathing could be from belly pain but there are many other causes for that. If the breathing persists it may be unrelated and he should be examined. I hope this helps and I wish Casper the very best!
