My large dog has hip pain and stiffness. Can he walk, what meds?

Zeus is a very big boy! He is a mixed breed - shepherd & malamute husky. Recently he has been experiencing hip issues. He looks stiff, and has a tough time getting up from laying down and sitting positions also getting into his couch. Is leash walking for exercise ok and is there any kind of pain meds that i could give him. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 150 lbs

Since Zeus is only 6, I would certainly have your veterinarian evaluate his joints to see if he does have arthritis. At 150 pounds, he is likely overweight for a Shepherd/Malamute cross.
