My dog has hives and a rash. Why is she still lethargic and shaking?

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 23 lbs

My dog developed hives on Wednesday took to vet given prednisone and Benadryl said allergic reaction to something bathed her Friday night noticed stomach complete underneath broken out in red rash. Went back given shampoo and antibiotic. Dog acts scared lays around she eats ok she is 2 Years usually with a lot of energy. Sometimes she shakes like she is cold. Red rash still on her and hives also. The hives are going down in size. Are we missing something

Poor Macy! It sounds like your vet is doing everything I would do. I would definitely make sure she is staying on the steroids and the benadryl until the hives are gone. Also, make sure she isn't going outside unattended and getting into something over and over again causing additional reactions. Some allergic reactions take a few days and even a week to completely heal. I agree that she also needs the antibiotics. I am not surprised she is lethargic because the benadryl can make them sleepy, but I am glad she is eating still. I hope she starts to feel better soon.
