My cat licked bathtub cleaner and is drooling. Is it an emergency?

My cat is drooling but isn't showing any signs but he did lick the bathtub there was house hold cleaners in there and it was wash really good. What do I need to do?

Poor Twichy! If there were household cleaners in the bathtub, that could be upsetting his stomach and causing the drooling. Drooling is a sign of nausea in cats. I recommend withholding food tonight, then in the morning feeding him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day. Do this for a couple of days, then slowly add back in his normal diet. Should the drooling continue or get worse, he starts vomiting, or he shows other signs of toxicity which include tremors, seizures, anorexia, and/or lethargy, rush him into a vet immediately. My cat won't stop chattering and is drooling a lot. It's like he can't control it. What should I do?
I suggest taking your cat to your veterinarian or a 24-hour emergency clinic as soon as possible. Excessive drooling in a cat can be a sign of a number of problems including (but not limited to) nausea, dental disease. Ingestion of a toxin, foreign object caught in the mouth, salivary gland disease, ulcers in the mouth, cancer of the mouth, neurological disorders, or eating something that tastes very bad. Excessive drooling is also a symptom of rabies. Many cats will chatter their teeth while watching birds or other prey animals; however, chattering could alos be an indication of pain or neurological in nature.

My cat threw up this morning and since then he has been drooling a lot! He is playing, eating and acting normal but wondering if I should be worried.
The drooling may be due to nausea, periodontal disease, trauma or toxicity. If he is behaving normally otherwise, it is probably not trauma or toxicity. You can try withholding food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with 1 teaspoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount if there is no vomiting. Feed bland until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to the regular diet. Symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian include lethargy, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain.

My cat is drooling alot all of a sudden, i mean alot, like a 3 inch circular puddle and drool dripping from his mouth and all down his front. I dont know what this means or what to do.
If it happened suddenly it is due to something he licked or ingested, cats are very sensitive to bad taste and start drooling easily. it could be something toxic as well, if within 20 minutes you do not see any improvement or if your cat becomes lethargic- take him to the ER right away.

Unfortunately, drooling can be caused by a number of issues which is why it is important to seek out veterinary care, especially if it has been ongoing several days. Drooling can be related to nausea caused by stomach upset or illness, problems with the mouth, tongue, or gums such as infections or broken teeth, or issues such as something caught in the throat or mouth. While a bland meal of some boiled chicken may help with minor nausea, the fact it has been ongoing for days is cause for concern and warrants a vet visit. The drooling can be a sign of nausea in cats, but given that Rex hasn't had a change in activity, appetite, or anything else, I would keep an eye on him for now. It could be chewing on those plants has upset his stomach, and I would keep them out of reach. Try feeding him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he's still drooling in another 24 hours after being on this diet or anything else changes from the normal, then I would have him seen by a vet.

Bleu has been kind of sluggish and was sick this morning. He has been moving around a little. I do not think he dehydrated because his nose is wet and he is drooling a little. Should I be worried?
I am sorry to hear about Blue. One thing we worry about in male cats exhibiting this behavior is a urinary blockage. It can make them lethargic, vomit, not eat, painful (drooling can be a sign of pain). If you aren't sure he is urinating normally or if you press on his lower belly and he is painful then we would be very concerned this could be his issue and this is a medical emergency and he should be seen right away.

Excessive drooling,my cat have been experiencing,what should be the home remedies for this?
Excessive drooling in a cat is almost always from some type of issues inside the mouth - like he tasted something (like maybe a plant) that didn't taste good or there is a problem with a tooth (broken or infected). Other options: nausea, ulceration in the mouth and kidney disease. The best I can tell you to do at home is rinse the mouth with plain tap water. You can him some human antacid medication but I don't know what you have available to you so if you would like to see what products you have and post again we can help you with how much to give him.

Poor guy. He sounds very nauseous. There is a possi There isn't anything over the counter that will work for nausea in cats unfortunately, but you can fast him for the next 12 hrs to see if his stomach settles. Then offer him a small amount of tuna or boiled chicken and rice at his next few feedings. Hopefully he keeps everything down over the next 12-24 hrs. If he did hae a transient stomach bug then things should pass by then. If not, then its best to have him examined by your local vet for further testing and medical treatment. I hope that your pet Noodles feels better soon.
