Does my Poodle mix's hair type depend on parents or is it random?

Zoey’s Mom was s poodle, Dad a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Do that fact predispose her to the type of hair she has, curlier vs wavy? Or is it just a roll of the dice so to speak? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 14 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Genetics do come in to play for how an animal will look, including hair type. Poodles have tight curly hair and Cavaliers have wavier hair. Which puppies in the litter get what hair type is a roll of the dice! I hope this helps!
