My senior dog drinks more, pees inside, weak legs. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 13 years and 3 months old | 27 lbs

Dog's 14 years old Alsatian Collie Cross & is reasonable fit & enjoys walking & does quickly approx 2 miles a day. In last year or so, has started drinking lots more water & in the last week has started urinating in kitchen at nights only. She's gets unsettled in evenings & often panting as if hot. Have been using Adaptil but not sure if effective. Lost bit of weight around buttocks & legs. Weak back legs. Has signs of cataracts. Does not appear to be in pain. When does she need to see vet?

I recommend you see a vet with heer as soon as possible for a full physcial health check and basic blood panel to investigate for evidence of diabetes and other medical causes for increased thirst, night time wetting and reduced exercise tolerance
