Why is my dog not eating, weak, and her third eyelid is showing?

Hi. My dog dosent eat or drink.Been 5 days since. She lost weight, shes weak and cant walk much. Also her third eyelid cover almost half of her eyes and has tearing. No other symptoms. I checked her mouth for a foreign object but nothing. She dont have any injuries. Today i gave her some water with a syringe. Before she was just fine, never had health problems, had a normal weight and out of sudden this happen. She is 10 years old, metis, large dog. Thank you! Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bety! Bety sounds sick and should see a Vet. Not eating for 4-5 days can mean a lot of things. The raised third eyelids could mean her eyes hurt. A common reason for a dogs eyes to hurt and also not feel well is uveitis. The phrase the “eyes are the windows to the soul” applies here as uveitis can be a symptom of or secondary to systemic disease. Because Bety is intact and not spayed an infected uterus (pyometra) is a very valid concern and is life threatening. She could have a tick borne disease, leptospirosis, cancer, kidney or liver disease or a fever from many other causes. I hope this helps and I wish Bety the best!
