Poor Trooper. This is likely from the rawhide but it could also be from parasites, viral infection, any human food, eating something he shouldn’t, and much more. You could try to withhold his food for 12 hours and then reintroduce a small amount of plain chicken (no bones) and white rice to see if this settles his tummy. If he is lethargic, continuing to have bloody diarrhea, vomiting, or refusing to eat then I would have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to do a fecal, blood work or even x-rays if needed. Your vet will also be able to get him started on some meds to help settle his tummy and make him feel better. I hope this helps!

It could definitely be the rawhide. They are very hard to digest and can cause an obstruction, especially in such a small dog. We try to discourage these as treats because of this. If your pup is still not feeling well he should see a vet for evaluation. Bloodwork and xrays are likely to be recommended. The most important thing to rule out is obstruction. Hopefully it is just mild gi upset instead and your vet can prescribe some meds. I hope this helps and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
