What's the best way to help a shy rescue dog settle into a new home?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 65 lbs

i am adopting a little older dog (she is 4) foster home told me she timid at new people and situations, after warming up she is fine, how is the best way to get her acclamated to her soon to be forever home... Thanks

The best thing to do is to give her a lot of TLC. I would try to keep things quiet for a little while in the home. I would not force her into any uncomfortable situations like a lot of visitors. I would make sure you give her treats for positive behaviors like going outside or coming to you when called. She will learn that you are her new “person” before long but just be patient with her.
