Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 13 years old | 35 lbs
3 days ago my dog Bo had a new red+mucus+swell spot about 1/2 a dime size (please see pictures) on his back, time to time this happened... - is it something in his food? - sick? - weather too warm? - shampoo? ... Note: last time I got Doctor David advice: gave him Cephalexine, it helped to heal. Then it happened again in different spot. I use Fluocinonide cream I feed him “the whole pet dier chicken stew by Andy Brown ” - halo green pills + milk thistle, vits+ glucosamin Please help!

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria and commonly called hot spot). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching.
