Why is my cat dripping bloody, slimy poop after using the litter box?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

Hi, my cat has had a problem for a while. We had him seen in the past got treated but now it has come back. He has a drip of poop after he uses the litter box and it usually has a little ring of blood around it and it is slimey. Just wondering if there is a home treatment we can do with his diet or if we should go in and get checked out by a professional in person?

It sounds as Stimpy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
