Hello, sorry to hear about Andie. Loperamide is used to treat diarrhea. This should be prescribed by your veterinarian and used as directed by them. Side effects may include constipation, bloat, and sedation. If you note any of these then you should contact your veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.

    I don't recommend it unless we know what is causing the diarrhea. I would recommend that you discuss it with your vet first. Some types of diarrhea serve a purpose of clearing the GI tract of harmful bacteria or toxins. Loperamide also has the effect of causing significant constipation if it is used in the wrong case.
