Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 11 lbs

I took my dog to the vet yesterday, the vet said he had inflammation prepuce. Today he isn't himself. They vet gave him oral antibiotic, plus a flush solution. But when I tried to flush it, he yelped. He is just laying around, is this normal, this is the 2nd day of meds

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. If you did not get an anti-inflammatory, I would recommend contacting your vet and asking for one to help reduce any inflammation that may be causing discomfort. When you are flushing, make sure not to use a lot of pressure and the tip of the syringe does not need to be inserted all the way in the prepuce. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
