Can my dog get ear mites from a cat that left? How to prevent?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | 28 days old | 2.25 lbs

Hi I just want to ask because I have a persian cat and she's infected in ear mites. My cat will leave our house before my new dog come. My question is 'is my dog will get ear mites by any chance too? even my cat is already left? if yes what should i do? everything to avoid it. hope to answer thanks .

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes your dog can get ear mites from your cat. You should consider vacuuming and cleaning your house thoroughly once the cat leaves and then consider a preventative for Princess called Revolution which prevents ear mites but also fleas and heartworms. This is likely going to be enough in terms of prevention. Good luck and have a great day!
