My puppy swallowed a paperclip. What should I do? Is it serious?

My 13 week old rottweiler/mastiff puppy just swallowed a paperclip. What should I do?

Hi and thank you for reaching out about Banner. He should be ok. Watch for any vomiting, decrease in appetite, or diarrhea. You should find it come out on the back end later today or tomorrow. There is a small risk of problems but most likely it will pass thru without any complications. I would feed him a good size bulky meal of wet food now to help pass the paper clip on down. If you have any concerns you can have an X-ray taken at anytime. It will show up on there very easily.
