Why is my dog coughing with a honking sound, especially when playing?

My dog keeps coughing and it makes kind of a honking sound. It’s worse when she plays. This is the 3rd day now. I give her a quarter of a Benadryl and it seems to go away. Should I be worried? Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | 8 years and 8 months old | 5.5 lbs

If Princess is eating, playing, isn't lethargic and isn't vomiting you can continue the benadryl since it helps. If the cough is still present monday I would have her examined by your Vet. Possible causes are: Kennel cough, heartworm disease, collapsing trachea, heart disease, allergies, or other infections. I hope this helps and I wish Princess the very best!
