Why is my dog suddenly shaking, limping, and panting in episodes?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 32 lbs

my dog is almost 8. i rescued him, he was abused and neglected until 2 years ago when i got him. probably 1 or more times a week for the past 2 months he will be sitting laying down or sleeping, the all of a sudden he is shaking one side of his body, the other limp and he stands up his back hunched, his muscles all contracting, tries to walk but limps half his body and he will pant durring this. these episodes last from 20 seconds -3 minuets. after he can walk fine i dont know whats going on.

Based on what you are describing I would be very concerned that Scooter is having seizure-like episodes. I would recommend taking a video of the incident if possible and showing it to your veterinarian.
