My dog ate too many Dentastix and cat food. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 21 days old

My dog Molly has managed to get into the food cupboard and eaten 4 full packets of dentastix and 3 packets of cat food meat. I was wondering will this be dangerous?

Oh Molly. What a naughty girl! The only problem we would anticipate with a dog eating an excessive number of treats and cat food would be gastrointestinal upset. If Molly develops diarrhea, you could consider feeding her a bland diet of 1/2 cooked white meat chicken (no skin or bones) and 1/2 cooked white rice until the diarrhea resolves. If Molly is lethargic, does not want to eat, vomits or has bloody diarrhea, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her. Good luck! Hopefully Molly won't have any problems.
