My dog got the leptospirosis vaccine and cannot walk where he got the shot, he has no energy and cannot walk normal. Is it okay to give him doggy aspirin specifically for dogs?

Please call your veterinarian or the local emergency clinic to see if Penny needs to be examined by a vet, and to get pain medication that is safer than aspirin. Aspirin (even when sold at pet shops and marketed as being specifically for dogs) can lead to gastrointestinal issues like vomiting and diarrhea, and can be toxic in some cases. The same is true for other pain medication meant for people. There are many safer options that your local vet can help you with. You can also try icing the area for 5-10 minutes four times a day to see if that helps in the meantime. I hope Penny feels better soon!

Was the vaccination given today? I would highly recommend calling your veterinarian tomorrow and discussing this adverse reaction. They may want to see Penny and see how she is doing. Aspirin can be used in dogs, but it can have some side effects as well, Typically these side effects are with more long term use. Here is an article with more information on aspirin in dogs and also provides a dose. https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/aspirin/ Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
