My dog's paws are red, sweaty, with pus between toes. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 9 months old

My 8 year old male boxer dog is having trouble on the base of his paws between his toes, it looks sweaty/red and if I gently put pressure on it hairs are popping out from the skin along with some puss. I've bathed them in warm salt water and he gets his paws cleaned every time he returns from a walk and he doesn't seem to be licking them excessively! Thanks in advance for your help on this matter.

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear Miko has been experiencing some paw trouble. From your description, it sounds like the paw pads may be infected. I would advise on having Miko seen by his veterinary very soon for this. He may be to be placed on antibiotics. I would continue with the salt water paw baths until you can see a veterinarian, but I would advise on taking him in soon to have this evaluated by his vet. I hope this helps and best of luck to you and Miko!
