How to stop my 6-month Vizsla puppy from biting aggressively?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Male | unneutered | 6 months old | 37 lbs

Hello. I have a 6 month old Hungarian Vizsla and I have a lot of problems with him. He always bites when he plays despite being loudly told not to. He only reacts to the punch with 3 fingers in each side of the ribs (he is surprised and stops). I can not touch him when he is asleep because he starts growling, puts his ears back and would bite me with anger. He seriously bit almost all family members including me (to the blood). After that we close him in his box. He bites for no reason.

I would highly recommend getting a trainer to come to your home as soon as possible. They can see exactly what Gin is doing, what is setting him off and work with you and him on how to fix it. I would do this before Gin gets any older and bigger. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
