Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | unspayed | 178 lbs
Our dog went into heat on Friday (12/29/17) It was a possible split heat. First sign was on (11/30/17) and no signs after 7 days. Earlier days were VERY LIGHT Vet did a vaginal smear on 12/29 and a few cells showed cornification. No white cells present Will she follow a normal heat cycle or does it continue from whee it left off? We have anoth smear scheduled for (1/5/18) day 7 or 8

Split heats by there nature can be unpredictable but the second half does tend to follow an almost normal pattern with breeding expected around days 11-15. Regular smears after day 5-7 are recommended to increase the chance of a fertile mating
