My dog has bloody, painful, frequent stools and licks his rear.

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 5 years and 7 months old

I have a 5 year old male german shepherd dog.He is suffering from bloody stools,stools are soft ,4-5 times a day and he feels pain. His vet has prescribed antibiotics as they think he has problem in intestine may be wound or ulcer etc.He licks down there as if there is wound.He feels pain while passing stools.Please help me regarding this. I would be thankful to you.

I would recommend that you discuss the possibility of perianal fistula. It is one possible cause for Sherry's symptoms. They can be very difficult to treat. Another possibility is IBD. Sometimes a hypoallergenic diet can help, along with anti-inflammatories.
