How to care for a blind kitten with eye infection and discharge?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

I found a streat kitten, her eyes got damaged by an infection the vet told me. Now she can not see. What can I do? She keeps discharging brown thing from her eyes. What do you recommend me to do and how do I deal with a blind kitten.

I'm sorry to hear that, it is very common in stray cats unfortunately. the infection needs to be treated with antibiotics even though the eyes are not there anymore. when she is slightly older i recommend having a surgery for both eyes to remove any remaining eye tissue if they do continue to discharge by then, the vet will then completely seal the eyes sockets also making it more aesthetic. here is a link that will hopefully help you with the blindness: https://consciouscat.net/2015/07/20/how-to-care-for-a-blind-cat/
