Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | spayed | 5 years old | 90 lbs

Hello , My female Indra is pregnant since last month , she’s 5 years old and since last three days she has difficulty in opening her eyes. Some pulse is coming out of her eyes. And she’s not active . I cant even give her medicines as she’s pregnant . I’m really worried because she’s the best pet and like a family . Please tell me what she’s facing and can this be cured easily or not .

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Indra! Indra needs to be examined by a Vet. She could have a conjunctivitis, uveitis, scratches on her eyes and a fever since she is lethargic. Just because she is pregnant doesn't mean there aren't safe medications to give her. Antibiotic eye drops are safe as are some oral antibiotics. I hope this helps and I would have her seen today by your Vet. I wish Indra a speedy recovery!
